GanderScout — Scout places. Gather your flock.
About GanderScout

More exploring.
Less searching.

One welcoming place for homeschool families to discover meaningful places, experiences, and connections.

Dacia Kimble, founder of GanderScout, on a sunny park trail

As a homeschool mom, I know how much meaningful learning happens beyond the walls of a classroom. I also know how frustrating it can be to find those opportunities.

One event is posted in a Facebook group. Another is buried on a county website. A great class may appear on an event platform—or only on the organizer’s social media page. Sometimes, by the time you finally hear about something your family would love, registration has already closed.

I created GanderScout because families deserve an easier way to discover field trips, classes, events, destinations, and opportunities to connect—all in one welcoming place.

How it began

A problem I experienced personally

While homeschooling my children, I spent countless hours searching different websites, calendars, social media groups, and community pages for activities. There were plenty of wonderful opportunities available, but the information was scattered. Finding events that matched my children’s ages, our location, our schedule, and our budget often felt like a project of its own.

I kept thinking: There should be one place where families can find all of this.

So, I decided to create it. GanderScout helps families spend less time hunting for information and more time learning, exploring, and making memories together.

Meet Dacia

Homeschool mom. Educator. Community builder.

Hi, I’m Dacia Kimble—the founder of GanderScout.

I’m a homeschool mom, educator, and founder of Roots & Wings Co-Op Gwinnett. With more than 20 years of experience in education and training, I believe children learn in powerful ways through exploration, shared experiences, hands-on activities, and meaningful relationships.

I also understand how important community can be for homeschool families. Sometimes we aren’t only searching for somewhere to go—we’re searching for people to go with.

That understanding helped shape GanderScout into more than an event calendar. My hope is for it to become a trusted resource that helps families discover new places, make better plans, and find more opportunities to gather their flock.

Guided by real homeschool experiences

The goal is simple: make discovering and planning worthwhile experiences easier, more organized, and a little more joyful.
